Position Summary: 

The Harvest Floor Team Member is responsible for receiving live animals in compliance with USDA animal welfare standards, ensuring their humane harvest, and delivering excellent customer service to farmers and haulers.

This role requires an independent thinker with a track record of improving processes, maintaining food safety and quality, and achieving exceptional finished products. The ideal candidate understands both the big picture and operational details to enhance overall performance.


Essential job functions:

Ensure humane handling and harvest of all animals in the facility

Enforce safety practices and quality standards

Prepare daily efficiency reports and ensure goals are met or exceeded

Maintain lot traceability

Provide excellent customer service

Attend staff and department meetings

Perform other duties as assigned


Non-essential Job Functions: 

May attend professional meetings, pertinent workshops and serve on organization-wide or professional committees.

Education & Experience: 

High school diploma or GED equivalent

1 year of experience working on a harvest floor preferred


Physical Abilities:

Ability to stand for long periods

Lift up to 60 pounds

Good hand-eye coordination


Working Conditions: 

Cold and wet environments

Loud noise levels

Exposure to moving mechanical parts
